“
As a Baptist Church, we are committed to mission at home and abroad and believe that we should share God’s love to the community around us. We are building close relationships with several mission organisations based nearby, in the UK and in different parts of the world, supporting their ministries and raising funds to support projects. As a church we aim to give 10% of our income to their work.
We support six international charities ...
Baptist Missionary Society (BMS)
BMS World Mission is a Christian mission organisation, working in around 30 countries on four continents. BMS workers and partners strive every day to make Jesus known and share the full life he brings. From legal work to surgery, food projects to education, BMS works with local partners, providing help where it is most needed, among the most marginalised and least evangelised people in the world. Its vision is a world made better through Christ’s grace.
One God, seven ministries, one mission. The BMS divides its work into seven areas – church, development, education, health, justice and relief. Its activities range from providing staff and money for Guinebor II hospital in Chad to supporting a school in Lebanon for Syrian refugees to distributing over 28,000 food parcels to people out of work in Delhi and Kolkata.
In 2021 our BMS Mission Partners changed. For many years we supported a family in Asia; we are now partnering with Bethan and Gareth Shrubsole in Chad. You can find out more about Bethan and Gareth on this BMS World Mission page.
BMS was founded in 1792 and is now a registered charity in the UK (no. 1174364). You can find out much, much more at the BMS World Mission website.
Eagles Wings

Eagle’s Wings Ministries UK endeavours to encourage and enable Christians in leadership roles to be strong and effective in those roles, showing the character of a servant leader in whatever setting God has placed them, church, church school, business or industry. EWM UK aims to do this through:-· being a listening ear to those in leadership positions· offering mentoring, spiritual accompaniment or acting as a ‘soul friend’· working as a consultant with leadership groups· speaking at meetings and preaching· leading training conferences by invitation on leadership and on marriage and family life (especially overseas). Over the past fifteen years EWM UK has been invited and has led overseas training conferences for church leaders in India, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa, with additional ministry in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Mercy Ships
Mercy Ships is a faith-based international development organisation that deploys hospital ships to some of the poorest countries in the world, delivering vital, free healthcare to people in desperate need. As well as completing thousands of urgent operations onboard its floating hospital, the Africa Mercy, Mercy Ships volunteers also work closely with host nations to improve the way healthcare is delivered across the country, by training and mentoring local medical staff, and renovating hospitals and clinics.
Founded in 1978, Mercy Ships has worked in more than 55 countries. By improving healthcare delivery in everywhere it goes, Mercy Ships follows the model of Jesus by “bringing hope and healing to the forgotten poor”, helping people of all faiths and none. In October, Mercy Ships announced that it had commissioned the construction of the world’s largest charity hospital ship which plans to sail to Africa in late 2021 under the name of Global Mercy. The 174-meter, 37,000-ton ship will have six operating rooms and house over 600 volunteers from around the globe.
There is more information available at the Mercy Ships UK website. It is registered as a charity in England and Wales (no. 1053055).
Choice Baptist Church/Pebbles Feeding Programme
Choice Baptist Church was founded in 1999 in Wabigalo, one of eleven slums in Kampala, Uganda. The area is predominantly Muslim and there was much opposition at first but the church started a nursery school which helped local people to accept it.
In 2012, after a visit to Wabigalo, it became evident that many children in the school were coming to school hungry. In January 2014, a group of people, many from DBC, started a fund called Pebbles for feeding the school children. A kitchen was constructed and in February 2014 the first meals were served. This kitchen now feeds 110 children daily plus the staff. However, there was no running water on site and it was a long walk to the nearest stand pipe. In 2015 a gift from Westbury on Trym Baptist church laid on water at the church.
By God’s grace CBC has been able to serve in this slum for 20 years now. As a result, it has touched lives not only in the slums but also in the city and the rest of the country. This is shown by close to twenty other churches planted in the different parts of the country.
World of Worth (WOW)
WOW works with women in developing countries who have been marginalised, neglected and abandoned. WOW programmes care for women and girls physically, emotionally and spiritually, and release them from a life of poverty, rejection and fear. It wants women and girls to understand that despite their background and how society treats them, they are loved, accepted and valued by God, that they are women of worth – WOW!
WOW works in India, Africa, Philippines and Bulgaria, in the following ways:
Education Opportunities - Women and girls comprise two-thirds of the world‘s illiterate population, and more than 40% of girls in Africa do not have access to education. WOW provides the opportunity for girls to attend school, and even university.
Self-Sustainability Opportunities - If a woman can become self-sufficient, then she can feed her family and educate her children. WOW programmes offer women the opportunity of business enterprise.
Counselling and Prayer - Many of the women and girls on its programmes have faced abuse, trauma and neglect. Through prayer, friendship, care and counselling we help them to heal emotionally and overcome their past.
Life Skills - We teach women life skills such as health, hygiene, first aid, nutrition, childcare, and business skills so that they are able to provide a safe, caring environment for their family.
Food, Healthcare and Shelter - World of Worth helps to give women and girls nutritious food, access to healthcare and a safe place to live.
We encourage you to visit World of Worth's website for more information.
