Everyone Is Welcome!

Dorchester Baptist Church is a family-friendly church with a big heart for our local community.

Our vision is - Loving Jesus ... Building Community ... Blessing Dorchester

If you join us on a Sunday morning, you will receive a warm welcome. We are a vibrant church with a passion to see people's lives transformed and enriched by the love of Jesus Christ. We seek to find out what God wants in our personal lives and church community from the Bible and prayer.

We meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 am. Our service includes a time of worship and prayer, with several songs, traditional and modern. There will be a sermon by our minister, usually based upon a Bible passage or theme. You are welcome to come just as you are before God – there’s no dress code. We enjoy a cuppa after the service, a great chance to stay around afterwards to chat and make new friends.

There are also various activities such as Kids & Co and Cafe Refresh throughout the week.

For those unable to get to the Dorford Centre on a Sunday morning, we provide online materials to help you in your spiritual walk.

You can find us at:

The Dorford Centre
Bridport Road
Dorchester

The Dorford Centre is located next to the Top 'o' Town roundabout in the heart of the historic county town of Dorset. There is a large car park opposite but please note that you have to pay. There is a zebra crossing to allow you to cross the road and enter the church safely.

You can find directions here.

What can I look forward to once I am able to visit in person?

You will receive a warm welcome from our Welcome Team who will show you to a seat and answer any questions. Our services focus on exploring the Bible, musical worship and sharing a time of prayer and fellowship. We enjoy a mix of modern and traditional elements in our worship, with an emphasis on preaching and teaching.

We meet in the church lounge after the service for a hot drink and fellowship.

There is no dress code. Please just come as you are.

Children and Young People

Children and young people are valued very much at Dorchester Baptist. We have some great activities designed to engage children and young people of all ages through fun, music, games, exploring the Bible, craft, discussion and more!

They stay in for the first part of the service and then headed off to:

Base Camp (school years up to year 6, ages 4 to 11)
Climbers (school years 7 to 9, ages 12 to 14) or
Summit (school years 10 upwards, ages 14 to 18).

There is also a creche on demand for the youngest children (0-4s), which is found on the Ground Floor.
