Foodbank
As one part of our vision to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ, in showing mercy within our Square Mile, DBC has recently started a foodbank to serve Dorchester and the surrounding area.
Wednesday and Friday 10:30 – 12:30am
at The Dorford Centre
As one part of our vision to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ, in showing mercy within our Square Mile, DBC has recently started a foodbank to serve Dorchester and the surrounding area.
Wherever foodbanks have been set up, they reveal a hidden need and various agencies and charities confirm that local people are experiencing crises when money runs out and their families go hungry. Dorchester foodbank has a store of non-perishable, in date, basic food. Supplies are given to families referred to us by recognised people or organisations and will provide enough to feed them for three days.
Depending on the underlying causes of the crisis, recipients are referred on to appropriate statutory or voluntary organisations and may continue to receive support for a limited period, while these are being addressed.
