Activities Overview
We believe that it is important in church life for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, and this is reflected in our Sunday morning services where we meet together as a family of God. We often involve the children in our services, while the essential emphasis on worship, Bible teaching and prayer is maintained.
We believe our faith should not be just reserved to a couple of hours on a Sunday. Throughout the week a range of groups and activities go on which cater for everyone: from toddlers and their carers (Kids and Co) through to CAMEO, our social group for senior members. We also run bi-monthly tea services which comprise of a short traditional-style service followed by sandwiches and cakes. Then here is L!NK, a mid-week house group, for teenagers to get together for fun and discussion.
As a growing church, we recognise that it can become difficult for people to get to know one another better. Housegroups are one way of enabling closer friendships being formed. They meet weekly, and while there is an emphasis on prayer and bible study, these also allow time and space to socialise and make friends.
We believe that it is important to be relevant in this time and place, so we are trying to show God’s love by starting a foodbank in Dorchester, helping individuals and families who are struggling financially. Also, our building is alive throughout the week with many local council, business, charity and community meetings and activities which are helping us to become a focal point of our community.
