God’s Faithfulness
I’m a little late with this blog. Sorry!
I could give many reasons (excuses) but I guess the main one being we were away for a few days and last week was very much playing ‘catch up’!
We went back to South Wales to spend some time with our family and friends. It was great just to have some time with Catherine & Rob; Matthew & Rachel along with our parents.
I was reminded so many times of God’s faithfulness.
When I look back on my life, I see many times when I doubted the faithfulness of God. When I asked the questions WHY God? Or where are you God? Even doubting God’s faithfulness because He hadn’t turned up or answered prayer the way I wanted him to.
Yet in retrospect I could see God was faithful even when I was not.
There’s the verse from Heb 10:23 “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”
“He who promised is faithful” - How amazing is that!
Jeremiah found the same amidst the ruins of a city and a nation because of gross unfaithfulness – yet God remained faithful.
Lam 3:22-23 (NIV) “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” His love and compassion are always new every morning – what great faithfulness!
You may be in that position right now! Don’t ever doubt that God is who he says he is.
A young man walked into a photography studio with a framed picture of his girlfriend. He wanted the picture duplicated. This involved removing it from the frame. In doing this, the studio owner noticed the inscription on the back of the photograph: “My dearest Tom, I love you with all my heart. I love you more and more each day. I will love you forever and ever. I am yours for all eternity.” It was signed “Diane”, and it contained a P.S.:
“If we ever break up, I want this picture back.”
My friend, God puts no P.S’s on His commitment to you.
He who promised is faithful. Praise His name.

Amen to that Harry. In recent years God has answered in amazing ways, the many prayers from DBC for musicians and worship leaders, children and families, and a modern building that meets the needs of the church family & community and brings glory to the Father. We must stay close the the Father in prayer and seek to share His love in our needy world. Our faithful God has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us. With this assurance, we can step out in confidence to undertake the calling he has placed on our lives.
