Easter Continues!
I do hope you had a very special time over Easter.
We had a great time here in Dorchester.
The Easter long weekend started on Maundy Thursday with a visit from Saltmine Theatre Co. and their presentation ‘Who Moved the Egg?’ A superb presentation of the Easter Story, it was very funny but also extremely thought provoking. I was particularly taken by the representation of Jesus taking the thief home to paradise. We were reminded that Jesus said to him ‘today you will be with me in paradise.’
We had a tremendous Walk of Witness through the town on Good Friday morning, even though it was very wet! Good Friday closed with a communion service.
Easter Day – The morning celebration on Easter Day included two people being baptised. What a glorious occasion it was!
I reminded the people of what Peter wrote in 1Pet 1.
He wants us to live with a passion for life. To keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Peter’s words to us as Christians is understand your identity and what our prospects are for the future.
In Christ we’ve got high hopes. How do I know this, Well ! v3 tells me our hope is rooted in God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our hope is rooted in the One who can never fail, the One whose Word is absolutely true, the One whose promises are certain, the One whose salvation is eternal.
How do we know this, Well! V3 tells us Easter changed it all – Peter is saying He ( GOD ) has given us ( here receive it) NEW Birth, ensuring, guaranteeing living HOPE. Through what? Through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
BORN again – Living HOPE – EASTER CONTINUES!
May you know it in abundance!

I found that part of “who moved the egg” very moving too…. When Jesus left his body (boiler suit) on the cross and tenderly lifted the theif into his arms. I thought he portrayed that beautifully.
